MISSION STATEMENT
To enhance the quality of life of older people, help sustain them in their independent living and help to break down social isolation. To promote good health, provide lifelong learning opportunities and reduce the possibility of depression.
FRIENDS OF THE ELDERLY MEMBERS
Our members are among the more frail and less able of the general elderly population. The majority reside on the outskirts of Bridlington or in the surrounding villages where suitable transport is unavailable. Many have moved to the area in later life, leaving family and other means of social support in different parts of the country. They are unable to access the range of facilities in the town to other, more able, older people. They become totally isolated from the community around them.
